ΠΑΓΚΟΣΜΙΑ ΗΜΕΡΑ ΚΑΤΑ ΤΩΝ ΠΥΡΗΝΙΚΩΝ ΔΟΚΙΜΩΝ / INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST NUCLEAR TESTS
Καθιερώθηκε με ψήφισμα του ΟΗΕ (2/12/2009) και γιορτάζεται στις 29 Αυγούστου. Η 29η Αυγούστου επιλέχθηκε ως ανάμνηση που έκλεισε το πεδίο πυρηνικών δοκιμών στο Καζακστάν, που το χρησιμοποιούσε η Σοβιετική Ένωση.
Είναι ευκαιρία, αυτή τη μέρα τα κράτη να ενημερώνονται για τις συνέπειες των πυρηνικών δοκιμών.
Στόχος: " Ένας κόσμος χωρίς πυρηνικά όπλα!!"
On 2 December 2009, the 64th session of the UN declared 29 August the International Day against Nuclear Tests. The resolution wan initiated be Kazakhstan to commemorate the closure of the Semipalatinsk Nucleae Test Site on August 29, 1991.
The resolution calls for increasing awareness about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any other nucleaw explosions and the need for their cessation as one of the means of achieving the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.
